About

Welcome!

My wellness journey began in 2011, when a friend gave me a little bottle of passionflower tincture. From that day on, I fell in love with the healing power of herbs and the wisdom of traditional herbalism.

Like many Americans, I once relied heavily on over-the-counter medications as a temporary fix for symptoms, rarely stopping to consider how to truly support my body. As a child, I was frequently prescribed antibiotics and conventional medications for all kinds of illnesses. Over time, I realized that approach was destroying my health. But something shifted with that first little tincture bottle. I began paying attention to the foods I ate, reading ingredient labels on everything from pantry staples to skincare, and learning about the restorative power of plants and natural medicine.

When my first son was born in 2014, I was committed to doing things differently. From home birth and cloth diapering to herbal support for colds and first aid, I wanted to build a lifestyle rooted in intentional, holistic care. The summer he was born, I planted lemon balm, once known as the “elixir of life”, and made my very first herbal tincture. From there, I started crafting elderberry syrup and other herbal remedies to support the wellness of my family and friends, and quickly immersed myself in the study of herbalism.

Over the years, that passion grew into  in-depth formal herbal education, and hands-on experience serving others through herbal wellness support. Today, as an herbalist based in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, I create small-batch herbal remedies and offer 1 on 1 herbalist consultations designed to support individuals and families seeking a more natural approach to wellness. I especially love supporting young families with approachable, practical herbal care rooted in both tradition and everyday life.

I have completed more than 900 hours of formal herbal and plant-based medicine education, as well as flower essence therapy, craniosacral fascial therapy, birth doula work, and childbirth education. These healing modalities have equipped me to support people in many different seasons of life while continuing to deepen my understanding of the body’s God-given ability to heal. I am also a registered member of the Christian Herbalist Guild and hold the CHGe designation.

Graceful Bear Wellness is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with creation, and pursue true healing through thoughtful herbal care, natural medicine, and faith-rooted wellness support.

Wherever you are on your wellness journey, I’m glad you’ve found your way here.
